The Mowlem Theatre puts on a variety of performances and shows throughout the year, including many cinematic releases.

The Mowlem Theatre is an independent venue run by Trustees of The Mowlem Institute Charity (reg. charity 243486) and receives no grant or subsidy from the Town, District or County Councils. It derives income from letting out the shops, bars and restaurant as well as from the function room, cinema and live theatre.

The revenue generated from income received covers the necessary running costs involved in keeping The Mowlem available to people in promoting entertainment and making the theatre available to local schools and amateur societies as well as incoming professional productions.

The full-time staff are:

  • Brian Travers – Administrator
  • Pete Elliott – Chief Theatre Technician

Brian and Pete are supported by a team of part-time front-of-house staff, projectionists and technical staff.
